We tested the viability of the music loop library through measured customer acquisition and conversion.
For the third official Wildcard project, we wanted to learn about validating an idea. We have no lack for great ideas at Myriad, so how do we determine which have true business potential?
Daniel approached Alysse and Will with a side project he had been working on called Americana Loops, a toolkit of audio loops for the modern roots songwriter or producer. It seemed a great opportunity to give Daniel key data for his business, while learning how to test market viability.
We tested the viability of the music loop library through measured customer acquisition and conversion. First, we set up a landing page for Americana Loops featuring highlights of the product and the video below. Then we ran a series of tests using ads to drive songwriters and producers to the site, where they could input their email and receive notice when it launches. From that data, we were able to focus our key users and use interviews to discover what they truly wanted out of this product.
It sounds so simple, but the process was new to us! Ultimately the project was a success: Daniel got key demographics for his side hustle and Wildcard learned how to test market viability. That's a win in our book.
